TL;DR

WHAT WE COLLECT
Nothing. oSalah does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. The app has no backend, no analytics service, and no network calls.
DEVICE PERMISSIONS
- Location (when in use): Used to calculate accurate prayer times for your position and the compass bearing to the Kaaba (Qibla direction). Your coordinates are cached on-device in SharedPreferences and are never transmitted anywhere.
- Motion / Compass: Used to read the device magnetometer for the real-time Qibla compass. Heading data is processed in memory only.
Both permissions are optional. The app will prompt you on first use and respect your choice. You can change permissions at any time in your device Settings.
LOCAL STORAGE
oSalah stores the following on your device only:
- Cached GPS coordinates (for offline prayer time calculation)
- Prayer calculation method and Asr school preference
- Last-read Quran surah bookmark
- Quran font size and translation language preference
- Onboarding completion flag
- Haptic feedback preference
All data is stored in SharedPreferences (key-value storage) and a bundled read-only SQLite database (Quran text). No data is encrypted because no data is sensitive — these are user preferences only.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
None. oSalah makes no network requests. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no ad networks, and no social media integrations. The Quran database is bundled with the app.
CHILDREN
oSalah does not collect any data from any user, including children. The app is suitable for all ages.
CHANGES
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
