How do I create a wallet?
Open the app and tap "Create Wallet." You will be shown a 12-word seed phrase. Write these words down on paper and store them safely. This phrase is the only way to recover your wallet.
How do I restore a wallet?
Tap "Restore from Seed" on the welcome screen and enter your 12-word seed phrase. Your identity, wallet, and Lightning address will be restored.
What is a Mobi?
Your Mobi is a human-readable identity number (like 879-044-656-584) derived from your cryptographic keys. Share it with others so they can send you payments.
How do I receive Bitcoin?
Tap "Receive" in the Vault tab. Share your Spark address, Lightning invoice, or on-chain Bitcoin address. Your Mobi also works as a Lightning address.
How do I send Bitcoin?
Tap "Send" in the Vault tab. Enter a Mobi, Lightning address, Lightning invoice, or on-chain address. Review the amount and tap Confirm Send.
What currencies are supported?
The app displays balances in sats, BTC, or fiat currencies including Nigerian Naira (NGN), US Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), and others. Tap the unit label to cycle through options.
Why is my balance not updating?
Pull down on the Vault tab to force a sync. If you are on a slow connection, the app may take a moment to connect to the Spark network. The app caches your last known balance for offline use.
How is my wallet secured?
Your seed phrase is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your PIN via Argon2id. The encrypted data is stored in the iOS Keychain. Your PIN is never stored — only a verifier hash.
What if I forget my PIN?
You can restore your wallet using your 12-word seed phrase. There is no way to recover a forgotten PIN without the seed phrase. This is by design.
Can Obiverse access my funds?
No. Obiverse is a self-custody wallet. Your private keys never leave your device. We cannot access, freeze, or recover your funds.
What is GATE?
GATE turns your phone into a hardware authenticator. Scan a QR code on a website to sign in using your Nostr identity. Your private key stays on your device — the website receives only a signed proof.
How do I sign out of a GATE session?
Open Tools > GATE. You will see your active sessions. Tap "Sign Out" on any session to revoke access.
The app shows "Connection issue"
Check your internet connection. The app needs network access to sync with the Lightning network and Nostr relays. It will retry automatically when connectivity is restored.
Payment failed
Common causes: insufficient balance, destination unreachable, or network timeout. Check the error message for details. Lightning payments require the recipient to be online.
Camera not working for QR scan
Go to iOS Settings > Obiverse > Camera and ensure permission is granted. Restart the app after enabling.
